Attractions & venues

Capacity is a schedule, not a shelf.

An admission slot cannot be restocked, moved or sold twice. For attractions, museums, parks and venues, the commercial question is which session to protect and which one to fill—and it has to be answered before the day arrives. RevenuePilot reconciles session-level capacity and the economics behind each ticket, then returns three ranked, quantified decisions inside boundaries you set.

  • Session-level capacity and pace
  • Contribution after reseller commission
  • Read-only by default

The venue jobs

Four questions the schedule asks every week

A venue does not have one price problem. It has a grid of sessions, each with its own demand shape, and a fixed number of chances to get each one right.

Separate the peak window from the shoulder

A midday summer session and the first session on a wet Tuesday are different commercial products that usually share one price. Pace and remaining capacity are reconciled per session and compared against historical lead-time cohorts, so the peak and shoulder windows are evidenced separately instead of averaged into a single view.

  • Pace and capacity held per session
  • Lead-time cohorts built from your own reconciled bookings

Understand the pre-booked and walk-up mix

Pre-booked admissions are the part of the day you can actually steer; walk-up demand is the part you learn about afterwards. Decisions are built from the reconciled pre-booked position for each session, so a move is proposed against demand that is already recorded rather than against an assumption about the door.

  • Decisions built from reconciled bookings and cancellations
  • Unknown demand is treated as unknown, not as zero

Know what a reseller admission is worth

The same admission sold at your own checkout and through a reseller are different commercial events once commission and variable cost apply. Where verified cost and commission data exist, decisions are ranked on contribution. Where cost coverage is incomplete, the gap is flagged and the margin view is withheld rather than filled in.

  • Contribution ranking where cost and commission are verified
  • Missing cost coverage flagged, never assumed

Protect the visit while protecting the margin

Price is one of the few levers that moves demand between sessions without touching the guest experience on the day. Every proposal is bounded by your own floor and ceiling and by a maximum movement per change, so filling a shoulder session cannot quietly become a discount that resets what your admission is worth.

  • Movement capped at 5% per change
  • Your price floor and ceiling enforced before proposal
The operating rhythm

From a session grid to three decisions

The queue is deliberately bounded to three decisions so a revenue review stays finishable. Nothing in this loop changes a price by itself.

  1. Connect one source

One canonical source connector per organization in v1. Generic API and CSV are available now; Egypt Excursions Online runs as a controlled pilot and the Foxes Booking Engine is available as a read connector. Rezdy and Bókun are certification-ready.

  2. Reconcile admissions as options, sessions as departures

Your admission types map to products, your ticket variants to options, and each timed session to a dated departure with capacity. Bookings, cancellations, costs and commissions complete the seven canonical contracts.

  3. Resolve the session exactly

Exact pricing requires verified identity—product, option, date, time and currency. There is no 'from price' fallback, because a nearly-right price for a nearly-right session is not evidence a venue can act on.

  4. Read the calendar

The revenue calendar shows pace, remaining capacity and price at session level, with explicit timezone and UTC instant so an opening slot is never off by an hour on a shared screen.

  5. Work three ranked decisions

Each decision names the session and option, the economics behind it, the uncertainty and the policy boundary that shaped it. Weakly evidenced signals are withheld rather than shown with false precision.

  6. Act, then keep the receipt

The operator holds the action. Source, economics, uncertainty, boundary and the action taken are recorded together in an append-only trail you can revisit long after the session has run.

Reconciliation for venues

How a timed schedule maps onto the canonical contracts

Nothing bespoke happens here. A venue's schedule is expressed in the same seven contracts every RevenuePilot workspace uses, which is what keeps the evidence auditable.

Options are not a detail

Concession, member and bundle tickets carry different economics

A session that looks healthy in total can be filling entirely on the lowest-yield option. Because options are reconciled as a first-class contract and pricing is resolved at option level, the mix inside a session is visible evidence rather than something you reconstruct from a monthly export.

  • Option-level pricing lookup rather than product averages
  • Option identity preserved from source through to receipt
  • Exact pricing requires verified identity, with no fallback price
Time is explicit

A session instant is unambiguous or it is not used

Timed entry is only meaningful if everyone agrees on the instant. Every session carries an explicit timezone and a UTC instant through reconciliation, decisioning and the receipt, so a decision about the 09:00 slot cannot silently become a decision about a different one across a daylight-saving boundary or a remote team.

  • Explicit timezone and UTC instant on every session
  • Stale or unreconciled sessions reported as gaps
  • Empty and unknown are treated as different states
Defensible later

Every recommendation arrives with its receipt

A decision receipt records the source snapshot, the economics used, the uncertainty, the policy boundary that applied and the operator action required. The audit trail is append-only, which is what lets a venue explain a pricing decision to a board, a trustee or a reseller partner months afterwards.

  • Source, economics, uncertainty, boundary and action recorded
  • Append-only audit trail
  • Exports available on Growth and Scale
Operating posture

Read-only first, and execution stays earned

A venue should be able to test the decision quality across a full season before anything is allowed near the live price. That is the default posture, not an option you have to ask for.

Common questions

What venues ask before connecting a season

Does this change the price a guest sees?

Not today. External price writes are disabled by default and live price execution is currently disabled globally. Recommendations are advisory and the action stays with your team. Enabling execution later requires a certified connector, shadow qualification, policy review and your explicit approval, and it remains bounded by your floor, ceiling, movement cap and cooldown.

We sell a lot of walk-up admissions. Does that break the model?

No, but it bounds it honestly. Decisions are built from the pre-booked position reconciled from your source system. Demand that never enters the booking record is treated as unknown rather than as zero, and where evidence is incomplete the recommendation is withheld instead of being presented with false precision.

Can it tell the difference between a member ticket and a full-price one?

Yes. Options are reconciled as one of the seven canonical contracts and pricing is resolved at option level with verified identity—product, option, date, time and currency. There is no 'from price' fallback, so a concession or bundle is never quietly priced as a standard admission.

Who on the team can see and act on this?

Roles cover owner, admin, revenue manager, analyst and viewer, with TOTP step-up required on high-impact actions. Seats run from two users on Starter to five on Growth and fifteen on Scale, so operations and front-of-house can review the evidence without holding an action.

FOUNDING OPERATOR PROGRAM

Connect one season of sessions. Judge it on the decisions.

Start read-only with a scoped set of admissions and agreed guardrails—no price writes are needed to evaluate the decision quality. Production card collection is currently disabled, and approved founding operators can create a verified account without being charged.
